In January of 2010, the elders of Fox Valley Bible Church, a church with a 50-year history of faithful ministry in St.Charles, and Grace Community Bible Church of Elgin, a young congregation seeking to have an impact for the Kingdom in the Fox Valley region, met to discuss the possibility of merging two churches into one new congregation. By God’s grace, on April 1, 2010, New Covenant Bible Church came into being. During the month of April, the two former congregations worshiped as one at Larkin High School in Elgin. On May 2, 2011, this new church was dedicated to the glory of God in a service of gratitude and celebration. The picture above is of this newly formed congregation walking into our building for the first time as New Covenant Bible Church. The Church Covenant that was signed by each member on that day hangs in our church foyer as a reminder of grace in forming this local church.
And they shall be my people, and I will be their God. I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me forever, for their own good and the good of their children after them. I will make with them an everlasting covenant, that I will not turn away from doing good to them. And I will put the fear of me in their hearts, that they may not turn from me. I will rejoice in doing them good, and I will plant them in this land in faithfulness, with all my heart and all my soul.
Jeremiah 32:38-41 (ESV)
